Memory Trigger

Memory is complex. Memories are not accessed as pre-formed chunks. They are reassembled as we call them. As memory of events and spaces become difficult to recall, emotional memory remains. Internal and external stimuli can trigger feelings of joy, happiness and comfort. Textiles, textures and patterns are evocative. Fabrics are frequently associated with events, but they also trigger the vague, hazy, blurry sense of wellbeing.

This work follows on from the weaving narratives series. It is part of a profile. Fragments interwoven to trigger emotions and memories to create a new emotional response.
