Gail Kenning is a UK- born artist living and working in Sydney, Australia. She explores the expanded nature of contemporary textiles through new media art practices. In this short extract from a 12 minute animation Kenning composes a frame-by-frame road movie from landscape imagery to construct possible narratives as diverse aspects and image reflections of the land are observed simultaneously. The images are accompanied by a voice over from a journey around Australia that creates a further juxtaposition and layer to the narratives. The work takes the forms of ethnographic animated weavings.
